With significant participation, the first meeting of the President of the Board of Directors, Mr. Andreas Metaxas, with the representatives of Myrtia took place following an invitation.
The meeting was held on Sunday, February 23, in the “Giorgos Anemogiannis” hall of the Museum, in the presence of Municipal Councilors, members of the Local Council of Myrtia, the Parish, the Cultural Association, and the Parents' Association of the Primary School.
Also attending the meeting were the former President of the Museum's Board of Directors, Mr. Michalis Taroudakis, the General Secretary of the Board, Mr. Vangelis Dermitzakis, Board member Mr. Michalis Krasakis, and the Museum Director, Ms. Marilena Milathianaki, who coordinated the discussion.
In his introduction, the President presented the key goals of his term, emphasizing the need for close cooperation between the Museum and local organizations. He proposed the creation of working groups that would collaborate with the Museum's team, aiming to promote Myrtia as a significant tourist destination—not only for the Museum dedicated to the internationally recognized author but also for the unique beauty of the village and its natural surroundings.
During the discussion that followed, several representatives of Myrtia's organizations spoke, highlighting mainly the issues related to the accessibility of the village.
The meeting concluded in an atmosphere of optimism and cooperation, with the promise that the next gathering would take place in early April, when the working groups will be officially formed.
