The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum welcomed today at its Permanent Exhibition the sculptor and painter Kostas Pagomenos. Mr. Pagomenos donated to the museum an exceptional, purely "Kazantzakical" work of his origin, as the title "Nikos Kazantzakis" bears witness to.
The sculpture has been created using recycled cardboard supported by a metal mesh and mounted on a wooden base. On the sculpture, the phrase of Nikos Kazantzakis: "you have the brushes, you have the colors, paint Paradise and enter it" is engraved. The entire composition was made in 2013 for the need of the exhibition "Report to the life and work of Kazantzakis through the visual arts" which had been organized at Rethymno by the Local Committee of the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis.
As a museum, we sincerely thank Mr. Pagomeno for his initiative!
We are proud that the work of Nikos Kazantzakis continues to be a source of artistic inspiration and are particularly happy that the art collection of the N. Kazantzakis Museum continues to be constantly enriched with new, exceptional works.
